- The text content of the Google Documents you explicitly select for processing. This content is transiently processed and is NOT stored on our servers.
- We do not collect any usage data. Google provides developers with an Apps Script dashboard showing executions, successful ones and failures plus number of users in total.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the Service.
- Generate presentation slides using the OpenAI API.
- Detect, prevent and address technical issues.
4. Data Processing and Third Parties
SlideCut integrates with the OpenAI API to provide its core functionality. Your use of SlideCut is subject to OpenAI's policies.
- Data Transmission: By using our Service, you acknowledge that the content you process will be sent to OpenAI's servers to be processed by the OpenAI API.
- Your Data is Not Used for Training: We use a paid, enterprise-grade OpenAI API. In accordance with OpenAI's strict privacy commitments for its paid API services, the content you process is confidential and is never used to train their AI models or for any other purpose.
- Responsible Use: While your data is processed securely, we recommend against submitting highly sensitive information, such as personal health or financial records, as a general best practice.

5. Google API Scopes and Permissions
To function, SlideCut requires your authorization for certain permissions. Below is an explanation of why each permission is needed:
- See, edit, create, and delete your current Google Slides presentation: This permission allows SlideCut to add the generated slides into the Google Slides presentation you currently have open. Access is restricted only to the active presentation.
- See, edit, create, and delete all your Google Docs documents: This permission is required to access the content of the Google Doc you specify by its URL or ID, so that it can be converted into slides.
- See your primary Google Account email address: We use this to identify you as a user. Your email is not stored or used for marketing purposes.
- Connect to an external service: This permission is required to send the content of your selected document to the OpenAI API for processing and slide generation. It is also required to interact with our database.
- Display and run third-party web content in prompts and sidebars: This allows the add-on to display a user interface within Google Slides, so you can interact with SlideCut.
6. User Responsibilities
You agree not to use SlideCut to create content that violates OpenAI's Usage Policies. This includes, but is not limited to, content that is illegal, harmful or infringes on the rights of others.
7. Data Security
We prioritize the security of your data. We use industry-standard encryption and secure OAuth 2.0 authentication protocols provided by Google. We do not sell, trade or rent your personal identification information to others.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to revoke SlideCut's access to your Google account at any time via your Google Account permissions settings.
